Getting to Know Paulette: HERO Development Assistant

What’s your background? 

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management many years of medical office experience and office management.  I have worked in nonprofit and LOVE to volunteer.

 What attracted you to working for a nonprofit?

It is my passion to help others and contribute to impacting the world in a positive way.

 How have your first few months gone so far?

HERO has been amazing!  I have learned so much and feel so proud to be part of such a great team that is truly making a difference to the entire community, as well as individuals all around the world.  My first week here, I was able to witness the impact when Global Relief picked up a semi-truck FULL of things to distribute all around the world.  It was awe inspiring!  The statistics say a lot but to actually SEE all the medical supplies and equipment that would have been in our landfill, but is now going to save or better the lives of so many people- WOW!

 What have you been working on? What are some on-going projects?

So far the most fun project was helping with the 8th Annual Bash.    It was a great event and I am already thinking of what we can do for next year.

I am still learning!  I am currently working on some marketing materials and updating the GiftWorks program.

 If you could have dinner with anyone (past or present) who would it be and why?

That is a tough question.  There are so many in the past that would be amazing to meet and learn their stories.  Of course, there are those famous people I admire like Garth Brooks, Oprah, Jennifer Aniston, President Obama, the stars of the TV Show House,  but as excited as it would be for me to visit with them,  it really wouldn’t mean anything to them.  So my choice would be my husband, Bob.  With our busy family life,  date nights are hard to come by!!!
